Happy New Year!

We can:

  • take the GREAT experiences out of two-oh-oh-six
  • learn from the not-so-great experiences
  • and... leave the ugly behind

Positive Vibes!

*Aside: some of you have expressed (accessing *cough* MY space *cough*) your displeasure about the lack of substance in my recent posts... Anyways, simply put - even with Xanga filtering/block enabled... I can't get away from the "anonymous" visitors... So, enjoy more of "Pearls Before Swine"...

Johnny Cash Forever

... i've been down on bended knee, talking to the Man from Galilee.  He spoke to me with a voice so sweet, i thought i heard the shuffle of Angels' feet.  He called my name and my heart stood still...

Bringing back the 3am breakfast...

It's 3:05am... Kaleigh's watching the proscuitto in the convection oven... Melanie (who just arrived from San Juan) is taking care of the sausages and diced potatoes.  Eggs and french toast will also be making an appearance this morning.  We're bringing back the 3am breakfast... which from my old and *cough* deleted *cough* blog - was a near-weekly happening for us...

*An hour earlier people were leaving my party en masse (when all the free booze is booze'd up, the non-alcoholic tub is finally emptied - drunky people and their designated drivers leave the nest in search of food or a place to pass out).  Bottles of Brahma, Stellas, Heinekens in the hands of friends (and San Pellegrino sodas, juices, bottled waters for the d-d's) who - for the sheer lack of quality time - just didn't get a chance to see as much as one (I) would want to.  What better to reconnect with those that hold you dear (and vice versa) - than with a partay...

So here we are, bringing back the 3am breakfast...

There's already talk of having dinner together tomorrow.. (err. tonight) - and chillaxin' to some football - including Canada's less-spectacled version of the Super Bowl... The Grey Cup.

Aside: my old bloggah isn't completely removed - Kaleigh says you can actually read some of it on Google... Heh.  (Whowouldathunkit?  My blog archived...)

*As the water in Vancouver is less desirable in terms of having it touch your lips (read: not as bad as say... Mexico, but the cloudiness definitely sends out some warning signals)... we'll be boiling Evian water to make coffee.  3am breakfasts should never include intestinal issues... Eck.

Positive Vibes!

Replacing your love with something CRAZY...

Well into this afternoon, Ams (hopefully) is being served more than just a soda and packaged pretzels - on her way to the Big Apple... That girl doesn't get hungry much but she sure gets snacky... Heh

Seeing as how I couldn't get back to bed (earlier in the day) - I located the closest Starbucks and ordered myself an eggnog latte (extra-hot, no-foam) and wrapped my lonely lips around it's sweet, calorie-ladened creamy goodness.

All of a sudden, some random gal-and-dude ask me: "Are you waiting to buy a PlayStation 3 too?"

Puzzled, I said: "Not that I know of...   Are YOU?"

Gal-and-dude took the day off today to get their hands on the want list of children everywhere (both good and bad)

So, seeing as how I had nothing else to do - I followed them to the local FutureShop... where teens (skipping school), university students (with essays that they just HAD to get back to writing... due at 4pm TODAY blah blah blah), parents layered in clothing (some carrying thermoses) who braced the elements of Mother Nature and literally - everything under the sun - rather than facing the wrath of their kids.

I got myself a PlayStation 3.  With one arm wrapped around the box and one hand setting my latte down - I handed my debit card to the clerk...  I tell her "I don't even PLAY video games... all that much"

Let's just say that some parents - who arrived late(r) - were soliciting those that came out of the store - with PS3 in tow... with cash and cheque.

Man in pajama bottoms offering me a $1,000.  8:12am.  Parking Lot.  Crazy.

You may be wondering "Gabe, what the crappers are you doing with a video game machine - if you don't even PLAY them?"

My cousins - who this year (so far) have not asked for anything this Christmas.

 PS3

A PS3 machine and an extra controller is going to be under their tree this year.
